Founder, Co-Host
Tonya Murphy is Armed Forces Insurance’s 2023 Navy Spouse of the Year and the Director of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships for Travis Manion Foundation where she utilizes her top five character strengths of humor, fairness, teamwork, kindness and creativity to support corporate partners and build community. In her 20 years of experience serving the military community through volunteer and nonprofit work, she has engaged through a variety of roles including mentor, advocate, programmatic manager, and fundraiser. Tonya has spent over two decades as a military spouse embracing the motto, “Join the Navy, see the world” as her family has moved up and down the east coast, to Guam, Naples, Italy, and their current homes in Virginia.
Building authentic connections and relationships, and speaking up to address the challenges of military life, while also celebrating the gifts that it offers, are incredibly important to Tonya. She knows firsthand the additional challenges that are faced by many diverse military families and advocates for equity across all areas of military life. She appreciates the power to connect and relate to others that comes from storytelling and shared experiences, striving to always see and hear those around her and serve as a microphone, amplifying the voices of fellow family members.
Tonya believes that learning, both formal and informal, is a lifelong endeavor. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Science degree in Counseling from University of Memphis, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Counseling from The George Washington University, and is constantly pursuing opportunities to expand her knowledge through individual courses and certifications.
Tonya’s favorite thing in the world is enjoying a good belly laugh, and outside of work you can most likely find her doing just that with her husband, three sons, and their ridiculously spoiled goldendoodles and cat.

Courtney’s professional journey embodies the evolving spirit of service in our dynamic world. Her career ignited as an Investigator for Child Protective Services in North Georgia, a role that instilled a deep commitment to public service. This fervor led her to become a New York City Teaching Fellow, where she earned a Master’s in Special Education from Pace University while teaching high school students facing emotional and physical trauma.Courtney’s dedication did not stop in the classroom, she volunteered with education empowerment nonprofits in Brooklyn, NYC, and Uganda, championing education access. Upon meeting her husband, an active duty Army service member, a new chapter began, shifting her focus from education to nonprofit development.
Courtney’s remarkable journey is underscored by her credentials, including a Nonprofit Management graduate certificate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels School of Government, attaining and maintaining the Certified Fundraising Executive certification, and most recently a graduate of Syracuse University's VWISE program through the Institute for Veteran and MIlitary Families. Additionally she’s an advisory board member for Project Recover, a member of CHIEF, and a Soldier and Family Readiness Group Senior Advisor.
For over 14 years, Courtney has been at the forefront of the veteran space, advancing its most crucial missions: raising awareness, fostering empowerment, and driving change through authentic leadership. Previously serving as Chief Development Officer for Travis Manion Foundation and now continuing to serve as the Founder of Catalyst Impact Solutions, she is a change agent. Courtney is a national speaker around Veterans issues, military family life and living for your authentic self. In the midst of her inspiring career, Courtney finds joy in being a mother to three spirited boys, watching SEC football, and using humor to break barriers.
